Delivery of Your ZENN
We will facilitate you making your own delivery or pickup arrangements. We recommend A-1 Autow Recovery (Scott & Bettina Sterner: Owner / Operators, (505) 896-3733) for professional ZENN flatbed deliveries. Scott, pictured here with his state of the art equipment will personally deliver your vehicle to areas outside Albuquerque for a reasonable price. Scott unloaded our first five vehicles from the delivering semi-tractor trailer truck, and we had a good time.
If you wish to tow your vehicle to a location outside of the immediate Albuquerque area, we can have a U-Haul rental trailer ready for you upon your arrival at our dealership. Or, we can recommend reliable insured delivery services. To relieve a bit of the pain, we shall split the cost of any normal, mutually agreeable delivery costs within New Mexico up to $250. This delivery deduction is compatible with any other discount except the invoice sale price offer to APD, AFD, and armed forces veterans (see sidebar). We do not deliver vehicles ourselves.
Financing and Payment Options
We suggest approaching your trusted financial institution for vehicle financing. We can recommend New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union. There is also the option of obtaining financing through ZENN Motors Company. Electric Cars of Albuquerque does not provide financing.
Payment may be made by personal check, bank check, credit card(s), debit card(s) , or direct electronic funds transfers. Cash payments are acceptable, but must be performed, by appointment, at our banking institution, New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union. We are able to accept credit card "swipes" for up to $16,000. We reserve the right to limit the use of high fee credit cards. All checks will be processed via e-check, whereby funds are immediately transferred to our account. Full payment is required to clear our bank before any order will be placed or a display vehicle will be released.
Trade In Vehicles
Electric Cars of Albuquerque is a new car retailer and does not accept trade-ins. It is possible, however, that our "lot mates" at Sundance Motors may buy your trade in vehicle, at their sole discretion. They specialize in lower cost, but well-maintained used cars. Such possibility may be discussed with Mario Simone, owner of Sundance, and a very fair dealer.
Dealer Transfer Service Charge
We charge a modest $65 DTSC to each customer. This charge partially covers the cost of forms and completion by us of all paperwork necessary for vehicle purchase and registration. It also helps cover costs of providing credit card and e-check services. Finally, the fee covers costs of meticulously protecting your private information through the use of special software, professionally monitored dealership security systems, and burglar and fire resistent file storage.
Servicing Your ZENN
In the Albuquerque area, our ZENN-Approved Mechanic is George Daunis of "Electrick Conversions." Mr. Daunis has a lifetime of automotive repair and enhancement experience and now specializes in the rather complex conversion of 2nd generation Toyota Prius's into even more efficient plug-ins. His work is professional and has the special excellence you'de expect from an experienced electric automotive enthusiast.
ZENN's come with a one-year / 5000 mile warranty. ZENN's are relatively simple low maintenance vehicles. An extended limited warrenty is also available covering drivetrain and batteries, the latter in a pro-rated fashion, for an additional year, up to 10,000 (cost is $1000). ZENN's can be repaired at your current trusted auto service shop. If you reside well outside Albuquerque, we can have your favorite mechanic checked out by and hopefully approved by ZENN Motors. We recommend ASE Certified repair facilities. We shall facilitate, via ZENN's fast-acting corporate personnel, connecting your chosen shop to ZENN service data and warranty claim processes via an efficient computer portal that provides full service data, parts ordering, and warranty repair procedures for prompt service.
If you are broken down, we recommend A-1 Autow Recovery (505-896-3733) or Knittles Towjng Service if you are broken down in the Albuquerque area, though you're more likely to need them for your gasoline vehicle than your ZENN, in our humble opinion.
